Sports Medicine and Kinetic Link Training

The Kinetic Chain is the smooth transfer of energy from one joint to another throughout the musculo-skeletal system. This transfer of energy is what allows us to walk, run, sit and move. A healthy Kinetic Chain provides longevity and strength to the musculo-skeletal structure. Conversely, a weakened Kinetic Chain causes aging and loss of movement. After many years of studying and practicing Sports Medicine, and dealing with a wide variety of injuries and conditions that compromised the Kinetic Chain, I developed Kinetic Link Training. This is a resistance training system that restores balance, strength, integrity and functionality to the body as it moves.

When one is faced with an injury or postural distortion, despite one’s best efforts to recover, one may experience a downward spiral. The body can become extremely weak trying to recover. Without strength, one becomes much less active, gains weight and loses fitness. It may be that the body has not fully healed, and is left with distorted biomechanics due to a weakness in the Kinetic Chain. Symptoms such as a limp, an inability to sit or stand comfortably, pain and muscle tightness, and poor joint range of motion are indications that the Kinetic Chain has been compromised. Other symptoms such as depression, chronic headache, insomnia, addiction to pain medications or continuing weight gain can be part of the downward spiral. These conditions often bring activity levels to a stop, causing the weakened muscles of the body to get even weaker and the stronger muscles to overcompensate. The Kinetic Chain grows ever weaker.

Kinetic Link Training, combined with Neuromuscular Therapy and Oriental Medicine, can restore motivation, muscular strength and postural integrity, strengthen the Kinetic Chain, and free the patient to return to full activity without pain.
